The World’s Top 10 Best Charlotte Cakes
Strawberry Mousse Cake and Strawberry Charlotte
While my little boy was watching his children’s TV channel, a show
called Nuzzle and Scratch (A British children’s television programme
about two eponymous puppet alpacas) was on and their favourite food is
sponge fingers. The point of this post is that they had decided they
wanted to make a cake with them. The odd thing is the actor who
was pretending to be the baker said their “sponge finger cake” was one
of the best Charlotte cakes he had ever seen! What was he on about? I
think it is time we found out as I bring you…
The World’s Top 10 Best Charlotte Cakes
Wiki Charlotte (cake) info: A charlotte is a type of dessert that can
be served hot or cold. Bread, sponge cake or biscuits/cookies are used
to line a mold, which is then filled with a fruit puree or custard. It
can also be made using layers of breadcrumbs. Classically, stale bread
dipped in butter was used as the lining, but sponge cake
or ladyfingers may be used today.
Strawberry Charlotte
10 – Berry, berry nice!
This first one should give you a great idea of things to come, it
looks amazing, not too unhealthy and the perfect little summertime cake.
What to make your own? Well then click on the image and it will take
you to a great WordPress blog with a easy to follow step-by-step guide
to making one..
Tiramisu Charlotte Cake
9 – The ultimate birthday cake
Now this is what I call a serious birthday cake! I would have ranked
it much higher because most of you know by now that I love strawberries.
(see my post “Top 10 Best Double Dipped Strawberries“)
but there is no making guide in the image link making it a bit of a
fail, but that doesn’t mean it is not an amazing looking cake anyway.
Gula Melaka and Coconut Charlotte Cake
8 – The Plain Jane (or should that be Charlotte)
What I like about this is that it doesn’t look like art, it is just a
basic Charlotte cake that we can all make, and while it doesn’t have a
great guide to making them in the image like it does cover most of it
with some easy to follow pictures.
Strawberry Mousse Cake and Strawberry Charlotte
7 – I just licked the screen!
Now that is how an image of a cake should look like! It looks amazing
and does nothing less than make the mouth water. And best of all is
that if you click on the image the link source blog has a great, easy to
follow step-by-step guide to making one!
Mango and Peach Charlotte Cake
6 – You put a peach in the mango then you eat ‘em both up!
Now is ever there was a perfect Charlotte cake for summer it has just
got to be this one! Imagine this in the summer heat, at a picnic, with a
glass or lemonade! Think that sounds like a summer snack you could
enjoy? Then click on that image and it will take you to the source that
offers a simple to follow recipe and making guide.
Chocolate Raspberry Charlotte
5 – Fact! Adding chocolate to anything makes it better!
And it sure does work when it comes to Charlotte cakes!
This awesome looking cake is in fact low in fat! Need to know more? Then
click on the image link now because it has a great recipe guide and
a great story line to go with it.
Strawberry charlotte (lady finger) cake
4 – The art of contrast
While this one is basically the same as number 1 the
different choice in berries make this stand out a lot more. Sadly there
is no recipe or making guide in the image link, but the good news is
that it goes to a website that sells them! I can hardly make toast let
alone a Charlotte cake so for me this is perfect!
tiramisu charlotte
3 – The OCD of Charlotte Cakes.
I find it amazing how a very basic Tiramisu cake with some few well
placed sponge fingers can look so amazing! But that is exactly what we
have here and while the source image link does leave a little bit of
guess work to the finer points of this cake, it does have a basic recipe
guide.
Apple Caramel Charlotte
2 – A Kiss from the rose
Is it art or is it a sponge finger cake? What I loved about this is
the self-made sponge finger wall that makes for a perfect cake tin for
the caramel apple insides! By clicking on the image you will find a
step-by-step guide to making it but very little pictures showing it
along the way which is a little disappointing, otherwise this might well
have been number 1!
Chocolate Charlotte Russe Trifle
1 – Pass me a spoon and look away, because this is going to get messy!!!
I don’t joke around when I say to you all: I would eat this until I
went blind! The thing with Charlotte cakes is that they are essentially
dessert cakes. And if ever there was a image of a dessert I could eat a
truck load of it is this one, nothing special to make a with a great
step-by-step and recipe guide in the image link I might just have to
have a go at making one…or two….or maybe 3!
